National Medical Support Notice
Last modified on: September 03, 2009
The National Medical Support Notice (NMSN) is a standardized medical child support
order that is to be used by county Domestic Relations Sections to enforce medical
child support obligations whenever a noncustodial or custodial parent is ordered
to provide health care insurance for his/her child(ren) and that party is employed
or in active military or reserve military duty. The NMSN gives states a new tool
for enforcement of medical support orders.
Although the NMSN is a federal form which may not be altered, states are permitted
to include addenda reflecting practices which may vary from state to state.
If you receive a National Medical Support Notice, please return the completed form
to the Issuing Agency address listed on the form you receive.
